I am a trainer and consultant working at DNV-CIBIT. I teach several courses and masterclasses on enterprise architecture, software architecture and software development. As a teacher, my aim is not to just provide knowledge and theory, but to provide insight and focus on the essence of the subject.

As a consultant I usually work as an architect on an enterprise level. I have worked in finance, healthcare, public safety and defense.

I have been writing columns for Software Release Magazine, with a focus on Java development. Most of these columns are bundled in a book "Het Hoofd van Mijn Vrouw" (in Dutch). I now write columns for De Automatisering Gids, where I write about more general IT subjects.

• Bionics: applying biological methods and solutions to the design of systems, organisations and modern technology
• Biology in general
• Insects, especially social insects
• Photography, mainly macro photography of insects and other small animals
